New York expat poet & performance artist Matthew Z. Zomick strikes again

A new face in the crowd
She stands out among the fools and sheep
Glides down the block all in black
Foreign words start making sense
Strung like an out of tune mariachi guitar

New Day (NOW)
by Matthew Z. Zomick

Yesterday is gone again
The clowns awoke with their wicked coughs
Diseased walls hijacked my soul
As the timeless lies consume me, I am blind
Blinded by self-induced wounds and lost joy
Silly suits seem to stare as if lost in a forgotten dream
It is today again...

I heard a voice
It said nothing
As ten men came my way
They passed alone without a care
No business in the streets
Violence breeds below

Note:

Matthew Z. Zomick, from New York City and Connecticut, has lived in Budapest about three and one-half years.

He is a performance artist and poet and all around renegade guy with a golden heart, who rescues and re-homes discarded dogs as Matthew's Dog Service, mzomick@gmail.com. He could always use help and encouragement.

These poems are exclusively published by ArtTraveler.

Rock on and practice peace and love.
