While a student at Macalester I walked from Madrid to Toledo, Cordoba, and Granada. Your essay had me looking for an Andalusia guidebook I bought a few years ago, after a Mediterranean feast on Moroccan national day. I told the ambassador with sadness that I had never been to his country. Not true, he said. Where you walked was Morocco longer than it has been Spain.
